Den ble stoppet av en Tysk ubåt, men etter en ukes intens dipomati, ble postsekkene levert tilbake til Norge, og posten ble stemplet "Bergen 26.8.15" samt linjestempel "Forsinket ved opbringelse av "Haakon 7." post." i lilla. Adressen i Argentina er overstrøket, og deretter påskrevet "Horten, Noruega" i rødt.

Dette er konvolutten som det engelske brevet ble fremsendt til adressaten med.

"Urd" was carrying the Swedish First International Polar Year expedition to Cape Thordsen in Isfjord, Spitsbergen. Transit cds "Christiania 5.7.82" at the front, and on reverse two "Stockholm 3.7.82" and one Swedish railway cds. Little polar postal history known from the First International Polar Year.

Mr Champ was the leader for the rescue party for the Ziegler Expedition. Arrival postmark "Hammerfest 26.8.05" at reverse. Also a postcard with an image of "S.S. Terra Nova". The Terra Nova was later used in 1910-12 by Captain Scott on his ill-fated attempt to be the first to reach the South Pole

Transit "Portsmouth My 23 76" cds at reverse. The Pandora under Allen Young was sent to take mail to the British Arctic Expedition of 1875-76 in Greenland. Egerton reached a Farthest North during a sledge trip on this expedition.
