USA. 17. 48 cents postage to Norway. The 12 c 1851 in a block of four on envelope to Norway in 1856, cancelled "Madison Wis". "Aachen 12 8 Franco" in red beside. At reverse "New York Jul 28" in red and two different German postmarks. Certificate PF says "It is a genuine usage, but with the bottom margin of the block and the left margin of the left top stamps added and the frame lines drawn in.". One of only six 12 c 1851 blocks used on full cover, this being the only one used to Norway. Ex. Donald Richardson.
